James Pfeiffer, Director, East Coast Operations
James Pfeiffer leads the business development efforts of PowerHouse Energy on the East Coast.

Prior to joining PowerHouse Energy, Mr. Pfeiffer was a founding member of Enertec, LLC, a leading distributor of microturbine technology for Capstone Turbine Corporation. Enertec installed many of the first microturbine projects in the NYC area including 13 units at the Clinton Hill residential complex in Brooklyn. In 2003, Mr. Pfeiffer sold the Enertec book of business to UTC Power, a division of United Technologies, Inc. Other notable Enertec projects that were finished by UTC include the Aviator Sports complex in Brooklyn, the cogeneration system for the New York Thruway interchange 19 and the National Park Service site at Floyd Bennett Field. The later sites are integrated combined cooling, heat & power system utilizing absorption chillers from Broad and Carrier. These are some of the first sites in the area combining microturbine energy generation with utilization of the waste heat for chilling to reduce client summer electric loads.

Mr. Pfeiffer is active in the various New Jersey clean energy initiatives, the local chapter of the New Jersey Association of Energy Engineers, US Green Building Council, and ASHRAE. He earned a Bachelor of Science  degree from Cornell University and served in the United States Air Force as a tanker pilot before starting his professional career.
